I Have An Invisible Disability

To the outside world I look normal! No one sees the insulin pump clipped to my bra. The line that carries the insulin to the cannula injected into my tummy,
No one sees every third day me changing the cannula and refilling my pump. But that’s ok. Being normal means a bit more effort. Like ten blood glucose tests a day. Like weighing your food and calculating your carbs. It’s how I keep healthy. I just want to be mainstream. Part of the crowd. A normal 18 year old!

What is normal? Watching what you eat is good. You just have an extra step for your health and sounds like you are doing a great job of it.

I am type 2 and considering getting the Dexcom

I am so tired of bg monitors. I check mine minute by minute. @TimSummers

@Blodyn I sort of understand being type 2. The Dexcom is really nice and you don't have to check it over and over. It will beep if you need to check it.

I am Type 1. We die every day and somehow we don’t. @TimSummers
