What are your thoughts on celebrity scientists?

Do you hold them to the same standard as other scientists? Do you think they are good for nothing other than entertainment?

Bill Nye. Michio Kaku. Neil DeGrasse Tyson. These men are making science accessible and interesting and I wholeheartedly support that.

@Longpatrol NDT is awesome. I don’t care for Bill Nye though. He pretends to be a “scientist,” but he isn’t by any means. He has a bachelor’s degree in engineering. I’ve never heard of Kaku.
