If you were given one thousand acres of land that you didn’t need to pay taxes on but couldn’t sell, what would you do with it?(both)

I would create a 200 acre lake and plant wetlands plants as a haven for birds and Turtles.
I would also plant 50,000 native trees. It would become a sanctuary for wildlife. Foxes, rabbits and feral cats would be kept out.

Homeless shelter and food pantry. Hopefully the land is near by the city where I can serve them.

Fortunately, the land which we own is filled with wildlife and coursed by a small river! Water for all, day or night and every season!

@EugenieLaBorgia Oh I know that...we live in an area that is surrounded by National forests, we just happen to live in town. We wish we could move out into the country where there is a lot more peace and privacy surrounded by nature.
@indyjoe We have our apartment in the city and the family home to the north! Here is where we prefer . with the woodpeckers, owls, the stoat, badger, fox....an abundance!

@EugenieLaBorgia There is nothing like being completely surrounded by nature.
Allow the government to plant trees and beehives on it, that way I collect a check each year and make something out of nothing.

@DefiantHeart and sell honey?
@KaiserSolze The government collects it. I personally allow them to plant trees on my property, and the landowner that bumps into my land let's them plant wildflowers for bees. The guy does nothing, and the government sends someone in to work it.

Leave it untouched for the most part. I'd want to take a small parcel of it to build a custom yet unobtrusive dream home for the two of us, and perhaps put some walking trails through it...but mostly just let nature thrive unbothered and unhindered. I would have it fenced though, to keep people from just wandering in and destroying it though, access would only be granted through permission and invitation, but I wouldn't keep others from enjoying it altogether.

@indyjoe Sorry, indyjoe, somehow I missed your reply. Time is 3 am. Going through all my posts. This one is number 535 of 1000.
Great idea. Nature should be kept natural. I agree.
My plan would alter nature, only for the better.

@SoulAsylum That's actually brilliant. Lots of money in graveyards now days.
