I think that "give up" is too extreme...
But I think that you can put this on "stand-by".
The thing is try to expect the least from people in general, so you'll have less disappointments.

It’s when you try giving up and love starts flowing in. I had that a couple of times in life.

Giving up at your age is probably a bit much unless you're facing some very unusual circumstances not disclosed in this post, but it's a good thing to learn to be genuinely comfortable/okay being alone as well, as the odds you will have to be for stretches of time here and there throughout your life are rather high in the modern world.

Never give up who you are.. YOU are special and just like a diamond in the ruff, just have not been discovered yet by the right people..
