In a world full of hot issues, do you try to learn about them in a neutral matter by reading articles from academic and credible sources? Or do you instantly go to something with a title that sounds like it’ll agree to what your beliefs are?

If the second option, congratulations, you are affirming to confirmation bias! However everyone is guilty of this from time to time. Can you name a time you were adhering to confirmation bias?

It’s very popular With social issues and politics.

Also what types of sources do you use when debating someone?

I just use mediabiasfactcheck.com; I'm sure they're not perfect, but I assume it's better to have something outside of myself deciding what news I'll take seriously than it is to give my mind free reign to assign credibility based on my own pre-conceived notions. No doubt I have confirmation bias, but I can't name a specific instance and I'm honestly just toto exhausted to really think about it.
Ten years ago I was in that really bad. Looked at everything to confirm what I wanted to believe.
Eventually when it all fell apart I felt mislead and lie to by false information. So now I am very skeptical of stuff like religion. Like to the point that if God himself told me he was real I'd still need independent proof of that. Because I might just be nuts after all. And having a mental illness I do not trust my brain to even be truthful at times.

I really wonder if there are still academic and credible sources. I see bias everywhere, although not in the same proportion when it comes to what is generally called 'liberal'and 'conservative'.
