That takes me back. It was a deterrent for sure, but I never knew a girl get that at my school, just lads. Girls tended to be behind closed doors

@CathyUK Not at my school. We were slippered in front of the class just like the boys. Canings, for boys and girls, were in the head's. studies but one's fellow miscreants, of both sexes, would usually be present.
