The apartment upstairs is so expensive it's still empty.

It's like mine, and costs $600 more (was $700 more per month). It's actually uglier than my apartment, and I'm glad it's still empty.
The unit behind me is empty and the kitchen is being repaired, it will be rented for $3500.00 (one bedroom). And I’ve no doubt someone will snap it up, even with the pandemic.

@RedBaron If it's too high for the residents, then its too high. Engineering the mass displacement of people so developers and landlords can make more money is shitty policy that makes the world worse.

@bijouxbroussard Yup! Exactly this! I'm trying to buy a house, and I can barely afford what people want for a poorly maintained building on a tiny lot around here. I can't imagine sinking 2/3 of my income pre-tax on rent. It better be fully furnished with full food service for that price.

@FaeLuna I guess I should be thankful. In American dollars I'm paying one seventh that figure for a two bedroom, and it's all inclusive.

Someone just moved in above me.. that apartment costs 3800 Canadian a month. It’s probably a bunch of Chinese students
SW-User
@SW-User it’s right next to mcMaster medical arts. It’s a two level 4 bedroom
SW-User
@SW-User Ah, probably four or more students. I'm near a college.

Per month ?
SW-User
@Vetrov Yes. $600 more than mine, and inferior. I have wall to wall carpet and no walk up.

Yeah you don't want an upstairs noisy neighbour 😝
SW-User
@Lilymoon I always get heifers that walk on their heels. boom boom boom back and forth.

@SW-User oh man...the joys of apartment living. 🤦‍♀️
