Do you like carving pumpkins?

DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
I love how they look but my arthritic hands can't handle the carving anymore.
Yeah it's fun. I keep mine simple but I like to do them because I love the smell of the candle burning in the pumpkin. Smells like pumpkin pie.

@lovelywarpedlemon I like that smell too. Only thing I don't like is I'm allergic to pumpkins. I get itchy hives all over my arms when I clean one out.
@morrgin oh wow!
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
No -- but I used to cut them up, cook them down, and then can the "meat" for pies, etc.
morrgin · F
@ChipmunkErnie which kind did you use for pies?
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@morrgin No idea -- the big orange ones from the local orchard.

I do but then they always end up lookin the same old boring smiling pumpkin look😒
I've never ever done that
morrgin · F
@butterflymind1 never carved a pumpkin?
@morrgin yes
I've enjoyed it from time to time.

I don't have anything against them, if that's what they enjoy doing then who am I to judge?🎃😏
SailorMarz · F
I've never done it. I always mean to...my gf's done some cool pumpkin carvings tho
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
We used to do it each year with the kids.
vetguy1991 · 51-55, M
That's better than I could do
Bushmanoz · 56-60, M
oh they always look amazing!..we dont have those here..no, wait we do now, but they are super expensive
Bushmanoz · 56-60, M
@morrgin They only ever get those kind of pumpkins at Halloween..which we don't celebrate but is slowly taking off, so about $1.50lb..roughly $15 for a small Pumpkin..is that normal?..also..are they edible?
morrgin · F
@Bushmanoz the typical pumpkin for carving can be eaten but it's not very good. Most people just bake the seeds from them. Our pumpkins here are about $0.25 per lb. which I think is outrageous
Bushmanoz · 56-60, M
@morrgin wow, seems cheap. I can't justify it. Every year bought candy (we say lollies) for kids, I think 2 came to the house..but on the plus side they got handfulls of candy
That’s impressive. My skill in that regard is limited, although I can make pies.

@bijouxbroussard the secret is to use a Dremel
