@4meAndyou Damn... Such an odd dynamic that develops in that triangle it seems. As if perhaps more than once a " therapist" has set aside objectivity and chosen a side. 🤔 Unbeknownst to them or not.

@Trippy She knew she was choosing a "side". It was pretty blatant. Everything he did was all in my imagination, apparently, and she completely bought his, "I am just a much put upon, honest and earnest person who wants to do the right thing" act. She would tell him to try to be affectionate...try holding my hand, for example, and he would assure her that he would. But when we got out in the parking lot, he would haul back and tell me, "I'm not doing that."

I would tell her what he said, on the next visit, when he was conspicuously absent, and she would have some very obvious trouble believing me.

But you know, you have to make an effort to save your marriage, and counseling is like the absolute last thing you can try. It certainly didn't save my marriage, because there was nothing there to save, on his part.

@4meAndyou Man.... That had to have been a toughy. I've serious trouble holding my tongue in much less unfair situations. Perhaps in the end however that particular journey was worth it in the end internally in spite of it's ex....ternal outcome ❤️

@SW-User Ironic that perhaps many " couples" in need of such counciling may appear quite the same as complete strangers.

@Trippy yes some people have nothing in common and I wonder why they are even together at all
