@pizzarulz East of Eden. I think Kate is one of the best introductory character chapters I've read. I think he wrote her after his own ex-wife. [c=#005E2F]"I believe there are monsters born in the world to human parents. Some you can see, misshapen and horrible, with huge heads or tiny bodies; some are born with no arms, no legs, some with three arms, some with tails or mouths in odd places. They are accidents and no one's fault, as used to be thought. Once they were considered the visible punishments for concealed sins."[/c]

One of those I was interested but I haven’t read any of her stuff. @ProdigalSummer

@madmax83 poisonwood Bible is long and rather heavy. Bean Trees is good starting point, as is Animal, Vegetable, Miracle. The latter is nonfiction and sort of a memoir following her family's year long journey to live and eat more substainably.

I’ll take that under advisement. Thanks! @ProdigalSummer
Edgar Allen Poe

@Elandra77 You can copy and past on here. This is my favorite lesser known poem by edgar allen Poe
“Alone”
BY EDGAR ALLAN POE
From childhood’s hour I have not been
As others were—I have not seen
As others saw—I could not bring
My passions from a common spring—
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow—I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone—
And all I lov’d—I lov’d alone—
Then—in my childhood—in the dawn
Of a most stormy life—was drawn
From ev’ry depth of good and ill
The mystery which binds me still—
From the torrent, or the fountain—
From the red cliff of the mountain—
From the sun that ’round me roll’d
In its autumn tint of gold—
From the lightning in the sky
As it pass’d me flying by—
From the thunder, and the storm—
And the cloud that took the form
(When the rest of Heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view—

So many...but Nicholas Sparks is one that touches my heart.
Lostpoet · M
@Fungirlmmm I admit I read 'three weeks with my brother.' And I loved it. But that was a memior. I haven't watched or read any of his other stuff though because he's kind of known for being a bit too romantic.
