I wasn't shy about crying when getting spanked. Nor did I let a few tears stop me from finishing a spanking when I grew up and got to be on the other end.

For me anyway, I cried over my mom's knee, but maybe not "cried them out." My mom was quick to respond to misdeeds and there was a lot of pleading for sure. My older sister was spanked as well but I never saw one. As you said, no real harm done and I grew up to be a more polite and reasonable person for the discipline.

I wasn't spanked by my parents, but numerous ex-partners and female friends over the years have told me much the same as you've said: that they benefitted from their spankings. I've found time and time again that those who were spanked as you were tend to be the least bitter about it and the most in favour of it.

Also, as you say, I think spanking was much more common a decade-or-three ago than most people think.
