Do y'all love your parents? Even after they're gone?

I certainly love my mom. Sad thing is, she's sick with an enlarged heart. Any bigger and it'll just... Flat out. No time for jokes about parents if you love them very much.

I love them even more.

My mom is religious so every time I was at home I change my name in her phone to Jesus.

Then text her randomly at night “go to church”

Eventually she caught on though. My father one night, he texted me “stop giving your mother anxiety attacks it’s not funny anymore”

When I was a kid an sometimes I expressed that I didn’t want to do something she’d always say “well John”

My name is John

“That’s life”

So now that we are both adults when she tells me she has to do something she doesn’t want to do I say “well Eileen”

Her name is Eileen an yes she hates when I call her by her first name...

“That’s life” 🤷🏻‍♂️

It annoys her but she knows I’m fucking around an it makes her laugh.

@User41 And it could be awkwardly troublesome at that. 😋

Both my parents passed away within 3 years of each other. My dad wasn't a good man and I didn't see him for a few years before he died. I wouldn't let him around my son. I don't miss him, but I loved him. My Mom passed away in march, but it was after years of dementia. It was hard. The last year was the worst, her death destroyed me. She was all I had. I am so sorry sweetheart. Please keep loving yourself as much as she loves you.

@Paintedfox Yeah. Emotions from a loss should make you more stronger. If I were to make sure that you'll be ok, I'd give you a hug.

*Hugs you*

@xSiFiGamer2016x I never turn down a hug these days 🖤

It's complicated.

I do love my parents and I will cherish the good qualities they have and the good things they instilled in me when I was a child. I don't wish harm on them.

However...they were both extremely toxic in their own ways, and refused to even try to be better. As an adult I have had to remove myself from their lives.

@DearAmbellina2113 Sometimes, you gotta forgive and forget. Or a different saying is, if you love them so much, just let them go for the better good. I guess I could say that I'm glad you made your move, because at your age it wouldn't go well.
