One minute I'm happy, next minute I'm crying. What's wrong with me?

Does this mean I'm bipolar?

Female getting close to menstruation
Doomflower · 36-40, M
No. It sounds like an emotional disorder but not bipolar disorder. Bipolar is a cycle that takes weeks or months. Rapid cycling bipolar is very rare and only diagnosable by a psychiatrist.

A severe emotional disorder on what was formerly axis II is more likely. Do you ever hurt yourself?
Angeliclove · 26-30, F
@Doomflower No I don't hurt myself
Very unusual to cycle between highs and lows that fast. As somebody said below - a symptom but far from a diagnosis.

It could be menstrual or pregnancy related, you could be tired, or just emotional.

If it persists and concerns you, talk to a professional, hopefully one who knows what they're talking about.

You're female.

Drum roll please.

No, mood instability isn't bipolar.

PMS? Thyroid? Hormones? Seasonal depression? sad movie? missing someone? frustrated energy?
My guess is your hormonally challenged. Yours are working overtime.

Can you identify any likely triggers that typically cause you to feel very sad or very happy? What was the last thing that made you feel good?
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
Could be but this isn't the right place to ask that. You need to a professional diagnosis to determine that.
JasonBrown · 41-45, M
It's a symptom but doesn't mean you are.
That is the basic definition.
