NO MEANS NO.

Why is so hard for some people to understand that when a girls says NO, then it means NO?

No matter how she is dressed, or what she had said before, if she now says NO, then it is NO.

Partly because in movies and TV a guy being persistent is rewarded eventually by getting the girl and then it's seen in retrospect as being romantic. He wore her down and now she loves him.

@grayhalo There's that, but then again, people should have functional brains of their own. This is not rocket science.

You are correct. People are capable enough to read the room so to speak. But in reality that doesn't seem to be the case.

Definitely. No always means NO.
Evidently some women don't understand that either.
This story from Florida:

After her boyfriend said he was too tired to have sex, a Florida Woman allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and slashed him multiple times on the arm and shoulder, according to a criminal complaint.

The confrontation between Jennifer Lee Chapman, 37, and her live-in boyfriend occurred around 5:45 AM Friday in the couple’s apartment in Dunedin, a Tampa suburb

Some people are dumb shits. I've never had a problem understanding the word no.

There are a lot of reasons. Some people are just shitty people who don’t value consent. And sometimes people get their wires crossed - courtship rituals are contextual and cultural, and in some places a man is expected to know when no means yes and disengagement is unwelcome..

It’s 2019 though, time to leave those kinds of games behind.

You’re right, of course. But I’ll never forget a woman here saying, “Most women don’t know what they want anyway, and they play hard to get.” I replied, “Speak for yourself. A smart man will assume that she does know and what she says is what she means. If she’s playing ‘hard to get’ she just won’t get ‘got’.”
Shouldn't be that hard to get, no is no... Simple as that.
