Why does looking at old pics end up making me feel sad... even the happy ones (of dear ones)?

Happy memories can make us feel sad about what has been lost, while sad memories can make us feel sad for what we wish we had but didn't. I tend to experience that when I do some cleaning and come across old pictures, greeting cards, and other stuff from years past.

@MartinTheFirst I guess. It just raises my anxiety about things I didn't say or did say or did or didn't do. And, it's like I want to go into the picture to "clean it up." My brother called me an "emotional freak" the other day... maybe I am.

@MarkPaul Hmm I wouldn't know. I'm not very emotional about the past, I'm emotional about the present and future. Mostly future.
