I'm so glad my mum got an abortion

I was in first grade when she had it, didn't really understand anything when she did, but she was crying. I always assumed that they "killed" my baby sibling. And then I grew up, got educated, became aware and realized that that was one of the best decisions she'd ever made.

She could barely support herself and me at some points in our life, if she'd had another child, idk how we would've managed. The child would've struggled, my mum would've struggled and I would've struggled too. Neither the child nor I would have access to the education and opportunities I have rn, my mum would've had to take loans and work more jobs and life would've been more of a hell than it already is.

Besides, our household isn't one where a child could be raised without giving them any lifelong scars, the child would've undergone the same physical and mental abuse I did . And I'm really glad that didn't end up happening. 🤗

I always find it weird when anyone says, "How would YOU feel if You were aborted." As if I would know as a zygote. wtf.

Anyhow, I think females and males make what decisions they do based on what is in front of them; the choices are sometimes all unpleasant choices, sometimes not.

It would be a hard choice to make while already having a living child that one takes care of and at the same time wondering if carrying out a pregnancy OR having an abortion will harm the mother's life which might be detrimental to the already living child - either way.

It’s good that you didn’t let that event ruin anything in your life or how you see things today. I like your positive attitude and understanding. My mum had lost a baby before she had me , miscarriage so I don’t think she supports abortion. After she had me she struggled a lot to look after me and was very distant from me. We had very little money growing up and my mum was a self harmed wich effected me in later life. My mum had a lot of councling and I think having kids and loosing the baby put a lot of stress onto her. I know our situations are different but I understand we’re your coming from.

Yes, it sounds like the best decision, by a long way, despite her grief at the time. Sometimes there are only an array of bad choices, but that doesn't make them all equally bad.
