Have you ever woken up early because of bad dreams?

I just did. 4:52 a.m., neck and shoulder aching from too much computer time yesterday, and having a weird nightmare about the ex. My mind was making awful things up that never happened. I dreamed that I was living in the house we used to own together, and someone had drilled through the screws holding the back door to the door frame. I showed the ex, in the dream, and suddenly he was here, online, writing about how funny my fear had been to him, telling people, "You should have seen her face!"

Yes , it has happened to me. Waking up because of a dream and then not being able to fall asleep again because I'm busy thinking about it

@BridgeOvertroubledWaters I woke up THIS morning at 4:40 am, but, thankfully, it was because the CAT was hungry and was sitting next to my pillow on the bed.

@MyPokerFace Naw. I would certainly fantasize about it, but fantasy is as far as I would ever go. And my fantasies are more about...hmm...putting lots of garter snakes in the garage. He has a panic phobia about snakes. OR putting fake bird poop all over the deck he painted. He screamed at me about that deck. OR...hiring someone to make it seem like the house was haunted, because he used to pretend the doors and drawers were opening and closing all by themselves in the bedroom. Even in fantasy, I am more about giving him a dose of his own medicine, and less about defcon 1.

I remember you talking about your ex in a story on the other site we used to be on. Maybe you've had this dream because of something left unfinished. I've recently had bad dreams of my ex too and we do have unfinished business he wants to avoid.

@Peaches I think the ex and I are definitely finished. They say dreams are our way to resolve our inner conflicts. And I have never been able to understand, or inwardly resolve, the fact that someone can just be quite deliberately cruel and evil.
