Why does rejection always send me into this

Total state of depression and hopelessness and anger all at same time.. It can overwhelm some times. I mean it's so intense it's unbearable and I don't even try to feel this way.

I can't pretend to know. Well, I could actually, but where is the fun in being that person?
I can be the same way. I am the same way. but not with everything or everyone. I have very specific areas that if I am not accepted or do well in, I totally shut down and have a hard time coming back out of the hole I put myself into.
