Describe the difference between independence and emotionally bonded

If healthy, they coexist. Not healthy, then there's aloofness/detachment versus dependence

Independence is being able to do things on your own. Live alone, go out alone...go to the toilet and eat on your own.
Emotionally bonded....when one connects with another person and feelings are involved?
I don't really see how the two connect really.

Never heard of emotionally bonded.. must be some new age hippy hoppity
