I Had An Epiphany

The same way that I prepare my meals, clothes, body for the work week, I also need to prepare my MIND for the work week.
I am an introvert who works in an open office space, surrounded by talkative extroverts. It's draining, because they constantly tell me how quiet I am, and recently have been making of fun how little and how healthily I eat.

I have to prepare my mind for the toxic environment that I have to be in for 8 hours per day.

Don't worry. After years and years of a work environment, you will become hardened, and you will automatically be able to blow off things that bother you now.

@4meAndyou I hope so. I do see room for improvement within myself but it seems as if people want you to change who you are at core to be more like them

@iamnikki Not really. Truth be known, they are not thinking about you too much. The ability to get along with almost everyone requires a thick skin. Doctors and nurses develop it in the course of their jobs, and you will develop it eventually as you deal with co-workers more and more.

@4meAndyou to me they do with the 'you don't talk much' 'youre so quiet' comments. They talk nonstop. Then when it is quiet for like 2 minutes 'ohh is sure is quiet in here, it's TOO quiet. I like it that way
And yes I will develop it one day

@iamnikki I hate gabbers. Verbal diarrhea, most of it. Yapping just so that they can make noise. I was once stuck on a commuter train with a pair of those, and after an hour I thought I would go mad. If I had to deal with it every day I would have to wear ear plugs.

@4meAndyou yes, it is verbal diarrhea . Talking about nothing nonstop
