idk who that is, but taking books out of the context of the time period is how we censored huckleberry Finn iirc.
I personally think that's retarded.

@VampiricPersona: Her being superficial is also reflective of her time period? Doubtful. By ysing the R word you are actually hurting people who are mentally challenged, but you are yout own person, I did what I can do.

@offingg: I'm actually not hurting them, it's not like I'm altering their quality of life by saying it. Besides I'm using the word correctly. Since it does have more than a single usage.

@VampiricPersona: Suit yourself.

To discount all books written in a different social climate is to deny yourself the perspective that can be learned from those times.

plus i doubt they read plath and understood it, nor did any research about her.
just another book banner, nothing more.

I understand, but so far her personality seems so superficial without any depth, I don't get why people are fascinated by her? Is it bc of her death?
Just stop reading if it vexed you so.

I could do that, but i'm going along to find if there is maybe is some depth in her and to figure out what's all the fuss about her

I never knew that about her. I never cared for her work so I'm not missing out on anything. Was Virginia Woolf racist too? That would actually break my heart.

I never read her work, recommend a book of hers?
NotHereForYou · 31-35, F
A Room of One's Own and The Waves are both good. Mrs. Dalloway is probably the most popular book of hers but I haven't read it. I'd like to read Orlando too because it sounds interesting.
I don't think it's a prevalent feature of her work, and I doubt you'll find one writer of whatever gender or culture that hasn't written something that could be deemed racist or sexist.

oh brother....

Let me guess, you're rooting for the racism was okay side
