For people who read Sylvia Plath's work, weren't you repulsed by how superficial and racist her personality is?

She used the N word and made racist references, I understand she lived back when racism was acceptable but I'm just not enchanted by any personality that's racist when acceptable

To discount all books written in a different social climate is to deny yourself the perspective that can be learned from those times.

plus i doubt they read plath and understood it, nor did any research about her.

I understand, but so far her personality seems so superficial without any depth, I don't get why people are fascinated by her? Is it bc of her death?
