It's a horrific patchwork of half believers, psychopathic plutarch, fascists, and criminals abusing human rights and ignoring the will of the people there.
In totalitarian systems there's an absolute news blackout, nobody's allowed to leave the country, and no person is immune to execution.
That's gone in China now.

It isn't a dictatorship. It's a plutocracy.
The remnants of a failed socialist/communist system, that spent much of its energies in elimination of a formerly rich tradition of Zen or Tao or whatever they once had, as a spiritual understanding of integrity and ethical conduct. In other words, greed. Greed for power and money.

@xixgun I've been in two Asian countries where the "leader" or "President" were pretty much dictators, too, and they were not Communist nations, nor are they now.
