What is your major concern about big-business mergers?

Mergers rarely work in favour of consumers.
They restrict choice.
And because BIG business mergers are expensive, the cost of them is often revisited on the consumer !

See water/electricity/phone privatization in the UK for proof of that.
monopoly power is ALWAYS abusive.
the more of these mergers, the fewer choices we have

we have, especially in media, has resulted in the loss of Journalism in favor of the bottom line.

we once had hundreads of cell phone companies, Now We HAve 4
[i]the others? all rent their signal from one of those 4[/i]
9 companies control over 98% of ALL MEDIA.
is this a good thing?

Fed-Ex is planning to merge with UPS. They're going to call it "Fed-Up."

Hammond Organ is going to merge with Xerox. They're going to make reproductive organs.
