North Carolina? 🤔 😁
Seriously, though....while education isn’t at its highest levels in extremely rural areas, I wouldn’t single out a region or State as I’ve met highly educated people from all parts of the country.

(I have friends and family in North Carolina)
@DragonFruit yeah, we have our share in north carolina. LOL still, not as bad as south carolina. 😂

@akindheart I know you aren't. The stereotype of the metropolitan areas about your midewesterners and southerners are very harsh and mean. You beat them :3

@SW-User aww thank you! i sure tried.
vacationgirl · 36-40, F
the dumbest sounding people are nyc Italians, followed closely by the hicks from texas and alabama.
Chattanooga · 56-60, F
@vacationgirl Don't say anything about my state.
JustNik · 51-55, F
I think the appalachian and ozark areas still seem to be thought of that way.
@JustNik When i lived in Boone, NC, there were some areas outside of town that were like a third world country. looked like a DNA experiment gone bad.

In the hollow - doesn't matter where. You can put a hollow anywhere and you end up with that.

Every state has the ignorant, backward and uneducated. I know, I've been to all 50 states and seen them.

Parts of the deep South have that unfortunate reputation, as I’m certain you’re aware. My mother’s family hails from the Louisiana bayou, and when she attended Columbia U she actually took classes to get rid of her accent. “Employers would hear that and subtract IQ points,” she said. She’s 85 and you still can’t hear it—unless she’s annoyed. 😅
@bijouxbroussard accent is surely relative. when i am back home, people say that i have lost my accent. when i am in raleigh or cary, people automatically assume i just squeeked by the 7th grade and starred in deliverance due to my accent. LOL
@SheCallsMeCrushDaddy My cousins used to tease me and my siblings because we have no “southern” accent at all. Mom can apparently still switch it on and off, when she’s among her family it isn’t as thick as theirs. Years ago I was trying to describe my uncles’ accents to a friend who had never left California. My brother, who was visiting, said, “Have you ever seen ‘King of The Hill ? Think Boomhauer + occasional French.” So that’s been my point of reference. Very entertaining, actually.
@bijouxbroussard gotta love the cajun accent. very unique.
