Would you lie under oath to keep your friend out of jail?

AlmostAnAngel · 100+, F
No I would not. You do the crime you do the time.
indyjoe · 56-60, M
No...I'd probably feel like I was betraying a friend (and it would probably be the end of the friendship), but if they did something illegal that required jail time...I'd feel like I was betraying myself if I did that. It wouldn't be easy to do and I wouldn't by far enjoy it, but in that circumstance I'd have to do the right thing.
Hmmm...Depends on the friend.
XReaganX · 26-30, F
No, unless it really wasn't their fault. The blame game is elementary and if the law is taking a misguided step towards that, then I will gladly throw myself in chains.

It would depend on what they did and what was their intent. So if they were being framed for murder i would, if they were beating up their wife and kids, no i'd probably throw away the key.
No, they'd know better than to even ask.

But if we were going to Thelma and Louise it, nothing to lose, yeah, sure I would.
@TexChik 😑 ahhhh nuts
TexChik · F
@Teggy yep, let’s not start that criminal career just yet ! 😉
@TexChik 😥😫 I really like my knee caps though the way they are!

Stuck between a rock and a hard place...

Maybe. What's the crime and did they do it?
NickiHijab · F
Depends on the severity of the crime.
Degbeme · 70-79, M
Sure what do you want me to say? 😁
Ynotisay · M
Nope. But I might do a little spin.

It’s the code of honour that I don’t break. Of course I would. There’s a difference between law and morals. But if he is charged with sexual assault or anything sick like that then fuck him he can go to gaol and lose my friendship.

I could, and it'd be believable because I hardly lie. it's called manipulating. Wish they would take 'under oath' and the religious aspect of marriage out of law. it's bullshit, and it in no way helps reason and truth.

No, but one has to answer the questions asked, not expand or offer other details. "Yes, No, I do not recall, etc." are all acceptable answers.

My brother isn't always right but he is always my brother and right by me.
