Were the Amish way ahead of their time?

The technocracy being forced upon mankind right now is dearth of soul and common sense. People are losing their rationale ability to think. This technocracy is driving mankind to a surveillance and police state which will usher in an age of machines. A madness which will make most of us human beings who don't conform to this insanity obsolete.

It is insane how people are today, walking lifeless zombies staring at screens. Drones who have lost the ability to truly feel and think critically. This is a world without a moral compass or virtuous purpose. It is the ultimate useless existence society people willfully choose to embrace.

I would not be unhappy if it did..Our family using technology sparingly and we also take weeks of the internet..It is getting so crazy how much most people are staring into a screen these days, even to the point of ignoring their own kids..

I don't know if their culture will resurge, but I think a back to basics shift will happen. We will learn the hard way the dangers of being too dependant on technology

No. I think we can do without inbreeding, incest, lack of vacvinations, lack access to basic modern healthcare all based around a 19th century religious institution. We have enough of that in certain parts of Western society as it is.

I don't know about Amish culture - it has value that will certainly survive. But I disagree that technology is bad for society.
