Is being dumped and being rejected similar?

Getting dumped is worse because
A. You've gotten to know them and develop feelings.
B. Getting rejected is usually about how you look whereas getting dumped is more about who you are.

When dating, my wife dumped guys who tried to make her dump me and choose them. They had a chance and lost. She rejected others for various reasons, mainly that she didn't enjoy being with them.

At least with being dumped, it means you had a chance. Being rejected means you never had one.

Neither is fun
