No. I remember the movie only vaguely. But...I have been thrown to the floor and had him stand over me with a television set threatening to smash my skull. I had him nearly break my arm when he threw a sofa at me, and he grabbed my hand when he was drunk and bit off one of my fingernails. I had to get myself to the ER.
I've had him split my lip, black my eye, get out a shotgun and terrorize the house, I've had him scream at the top of his lungs, I've had him criticize my every movement, I've had him seem to lose his mind at a moment's notice. Once, we went for a long weekend at a resort, and I grimaced when I was trying to get the zipper of my dress to go down, and he accused me of threatening him, and he started to come toward me like he was going to hurt me.
I have seen him standing over my child, on the floor, threatening my child with a wooden and metal chair raised over his head. I have seen him go beyond what was sane or rational. I have seen what used to be a normal human being turn into...I don't know what. But it was like Jekyll and Hyde....and no one...not one member of his family....ever suspected that he was an abuser or that he was going crazy. He was SO careful to hide himself in front of his family.

He is the ex, but he is not in jail. I had him jailed twice, but I never pressed charges to keep him there.
