I don't understand why most men don't want to start a family .

Because I'm poor, I'm single, and if I truly believe in the principles of Social Darwinism, I shouldn't reproduce at all.

@RemovedUsername8862 you had me at Social Darwinism.

Nah, just kidding. I've never really heard of such a thing but I just like the sound of it. 😂

@Aphrodeity Haha! Yeah, I really agree with the theory behind it, but it's also the philosophy that has justified some of the worst excesses in human history, so I only apply it to myself.

I'm sure they don't understand why anyone would want to, lol.

They - sorry - we - realise being a parent is a tremendous social, emotional and financial responsibility, complication and burden. If we know we cannot cope with any of those, then we know we will not good parents.

On the other hand I have never understood why people - both sexes - want to have children, beyond the obvious, natural, biological drive to reproduce.

My text-book on human biology introduces its chapter on reproduction with the statement that "biologically, our purpose in life is to reproduce". Rather a bleak way of looking at human life because it ignores everything else in that life, and leads to the obvious but very uncomfortable question about the point of life in general.

It was decided in the last monthly patriarchy meeting. Didn't you get the memo?

Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
Possibly because they've probably been raised by single parents whom they saw struggle trying to make ends meet.

they don't want that responsibility or they don't like kids
Virtually · 26-30, M
@SW-User I've always wanted both.

@Virtually good luck i hope you get that chance
It's a huge responsibility. Some people aren't ready for that kind of pressure.

Having kids never made much sense to me
