Anyone else in California as ticked off as I am over marijuana legalization?

Since legalization of marijuana in California...it's become nearly impossible to find it within 20 miles of my home. All the dispensaries in this area have been raided and closed down. As a result, even if you are willing to drive 20 miles, it is now more expensive. Unavailable...or far away and expensive.

I'm old, arthritic, and, as a medical marijuana patient, I was able to avoid taking a lot of ibuprofen and other pain meds. Now I am wondering how far I am willing to drive for it. I'm thinking about it. I just took a couple of Tylenol....

I'm not sure they were raided. They're shutting down until their permits are approved and the statewide system is up and running.
As a suggestion in terms of cost, you might want to look towards the dispensaries that have maintained their medical license and aren't selling for recreation. That's what mine did and the prices didn't budge. And unless I'm mistaken, I think dispensaries selling for recreation are supposed to have a different price point when it's medicinal

@Crazywaterspring I don't believe so. Only a few states do. California will sell to anyone over 21.

@Ynotisay There are places like that, but they're a long drive away. I live out in the desert. I've settled for having it delivered; a slightly more expensive option. Next month I'm going to make a long drive and stock up for a couple of months.

@Crazywaterspring I went on the Internet and got a prescription that is good in all states that have medical marijuana laws.

I'm sorry that's happening to you. It sounds like your state is having some real problems right now. Best thing to do is get on the computer and organize all your friends, family, their friends etc etc etc and try to oust the politicians in charge.

Sorry to hear this. I hope soon medical marijuana will be federally legalized.

@NeuroticByNature The feds are not the ones doing the raiding and closing down of marijuana dispensaries. It's all the local ordinances a lot of communities passed making marijuana dispensaries illegal in various towns and cities.

Really? That stinks I live in a state where it’s legal and we have no issues whatsoever ever.

Shitty man sorry that happened. Hopefully things work out in the near future

I'd like to make the drive to Denver. That's 12 hours from here.

Goooooooood. Stay sober
Ynotisay · M
@SW-User Maybe she's using cannabis with high CBD'S and no/low THC. A lot of medicinal patients do. It's what they give children. There's no 'high.' And sober is for alcoholics. Cannabis isn't addictive.

@Ynotisay I do use the kind with a strong CBD content, but I like the relaxing high, too. Everything in moderation. It helps me relax, avoid too much anxiety, keep my blood pressure down and sleep better. I'm an old lady. I don't drive around high. I'm a decent citizen and a quiet neighbor. I did not use marijuana during my career days. I'm enjoying my retirement now and it helps.

I'm glad you're seeing some benefits. Hopefully, accessibility will start getting a little easier for you.
