I Sometimes Wonder What the Hell Is Wrong With People

I heard a foreigner say one time that America is the most stressed out, angriest country he had ever been to. Has anyone ever traveled and found that to be true? I had long heard America is definitely not the happiest country.

Think about where they're visiting. New York, LA; no wonder they think we're all angry nuts.

@Cloud7593 The key, and missing, word is "some".
I guess it's a sense of entitlement that makes [big]some[/big] Americans unhappy, fall apart when things don't go our way.

Oh yeah it's not true of everybody, but I'd say at least half the people I come across are like that. People just seem to act like big babies.

@Cloud7593 The whiners are just more vocal, that's why it seems like there are more than there actually are.

Americans tend to speak their minds much more than I have seen in other countries. We don't usually risk horrible consequences for doing so. Couple this with the fact that tourists usually see folks who work in the service industry and are often poorly paid it's not hard to see why that foreigner perceived that about us. Americans in general are poorly educated about how well off they really are, too. What we call a poverty level income is a middle class income in most of the world.

I think the rich people are happy .
@DarlingSelah I think the rich people are the UNhappiest of all.
I haven't been to many other lands, but it wouldn't surprise me one bit if what he says is true. The Canadians seem much happier than we do.
