I Can't Fit In With People

A colleague sitting next to me is always talking about her children / her bearing children. No matter whom she talks to/ what topics she talks about she could fit in her children into the conversation. Many people working here have children and are interested in talking about their children too. I feel I cannot fit in here. I have no children, and am not interested in getting married nor having children. Maybe nowhere in the world will I fit in, but I think it s really odd to talk about your family all the time in the office.

These people are insensitive. And it's a sad fact that sensitivity to others can't be taught. It's either you have it or not. In such interactions, you also see who likes attention and showing off. I don't enjoy them at all. I move away whenever such a person comes along.

@novembermoon another topic some people like talking is the age of other people. They may not intend to be rude but they are really insensitive to me. It is something personal and offending because with this topic, it usually comes with judgments on appearance and work performance.
