I hate people when they try to convert me to their religion

When I kept sad stauts in my WhatsApp, one of my friends said that if I change my religion to ********* I will be happy and god will support me. I was so confused. If it is a real god, he/she should help me though I pray or not. I feel people nowadays changed a lot. I don't really understand what they will get out of this.

IDK if it's me or if religious fundamentalism decreased by a TON over the past several years, but I used to have people up my ass about it 24/7 and now I barely get that kind of shit ever. I think the vast majority of society has developed a "live and let live" kind of attitude and I love it.

the whole idea of a god that would create a universe, then create intelligent creature just so that they can worship him makes no sense to me. who would do that ? create people and then test their faith and punish them for eternity if they don't follow his rules. if this is true then god is a egomaniac and a psychopath.

@reflectingmonkey exactly. This is what I told to that person. Then he told that I will be punished and go to hell if I don't worship that god. I felt so funny. They are literally trying to thread me.

@Swimmingpool I always get them by saying " why do you say such horrible things about your god? you're assuming he is so vain that he will punish people for not worshiping him? how can you say that about your god? isn't he a god of love?"

@reflectingmonkey people should stop trying to convert others. Everyone has different perception about god. So they have to change the way they speak to others.

Yeahhhhh... I wouldn't consider that person a friend cause they obviously are trying to change you. And not nessasarily for the better. Religion can destroy people. Such as said person.

It's worse when those people are your parents. i don't talk to em anymore as i wasn't willing to put up with the love bombing and fear tactics. thankfully i was able to move into my BF's house :D
