Do you find life is sometimes

too expensive to enjoy? Such as the things you enjoy cost too much.
I don’t always like to stay home but here in Australia a nice meal out can set us back easily a hundred bucks, movies are unbelievable...easily $100 plus for a family...getting a massage is expensive, shopping is expensive, going on a decent holiday here you need 5k+
I’m American so know that living and entertainment is cheaper in the States. I’m curious if you find it to be expensive to live and do things for fun there or wherever you live.
Oh I am creative. I’m talking about when we want to see movies, go bowling, go on a trip, go to dinner. Why do they have make it so expensive? Not just entertainment here...living here...very crazy expensive. It shouldn’t be so expensive that people can’t enjoy living. It’s that way here.@Psycho

@MissMollyCharlotte0702 Here in the UK it was £10 to see a movie last time I went that's like 18 Australian dollars for one ticket. For a decent meal out anywhere from 1
£10 - £20 mid range.

Society is greedy. I'm not saying you are materialistic at all but stick it to society by making your own fun at less cost.

There are ways. I'm sorry if I'm lecturing you
No don’t feel lectured just sometimes I want to be able to go and enjoy things. Even something as simple as picking strawberries ends up being a high cost...and because there are so many damn people hardly any strawberries left.
Today my friend and I went to spa baths and pools because I suffer CFS and she couldn’t afford the pools that I needed so she ended up staying in the area with the two pools for $50 and I paid $100 for 6 pools. There was a magnesium pool which I needed , a ice cold plunge pool and spa bath. To me it was worth it, but had to do it alone because her husband wouldn’t let her do it. Luckily my husband and I had some extra saved so I could do it. Just would have been nice to do all six pools with her and not by myself, but my body felt nice after. I could’ve laid there all day long. Lol@Psycho

Because Australia has been labelled "A Rich Country", prices are inflated.
Too many businesses are ripping us off.
One can notice this when Businesses have "Sales" with up to 90% off.
They still make money on Sales.
Nothing but rip off pricks.
Australia is a very expensive country only because people who own the businesses are greedy.
Also, the rent for housing is crazy. I knew this girl who went to look at a house and oh my goodness...mice droppings, stains on the carpets, and a pergola that was clearly falling down. He wanted several hundred and week and she told him no only because an Aussie friend pointed things out and told her not to take it.
She was from South America and actually lived in a shed for six months so anything was beautiful to her. She finally got in this house and she kept talking about how beautiful it was so I went to visit and was horrified about how gross it was. @Gusman

@MissMollyCharlotte0702 Australia is rapidly going downhill for many people.
Overpriced to the max, Homelessness is skyrocketing, 1 million people living below the poverty line.
Refugees are given everything while dinky di Aussies are told to f--k off.
I am starting to really dislike what Australia has become. Glad I will be dead inside 20 years. Can't imagine how bad it will be.
I know. Me too.

I’m on the east coast so things have a higher price tag. I guess I am annoyed that shirts cost $2.50 to be pressed unlike the $1.50 it was at home.

I typically don’t want or need nice things. I care more about the people involved.
Me too. I just want to do things with my husband and son outside of home, but find we can’t because it’s so costly. Just going and playing a game of bowling is expensive. @SW-User

@MissMollyCharlotte0702 It all depends.

My son likes to drive go karts and there’s a cheap place with gas carts for like $4 a trip. Then, there is the electric car place that is really fun for $20 a trip.

Could we get by on just the $4 cars? Probably.

I’m really frugal about some stuff though so maybe it’s just easier for me to find deals.
Go Karting is way more than $20 here. At times I just pay it just so he can enjoy something different. Lol@SW-User

The thing is the more you try to fill that hole the bigger it gets. Material pleasures don't last, it's something inside we are truly looking for.
I’m not necessarily materialistic, but when I try to plan things for the family it’s a lot of money@Psycho

@MissMollyCharlotte0702 Get creative, the fun is there because you make it so it's not the $200 outting.

You could create your own entertainment for way less.

A lot of things first world people take for granted is considered luxury everywhere else
Thank you for the reminder. We forget that it’s not the same everywhere. @midnightsun

@MissMollyCharlotte0702 if you want to understand more about this then read about stoic philosophy.

Basically we take a lot of things for granted that we forget to not appreciate what we have. Stoicism suggests you to spend some time meditating everyday thinking about how fortunate you are with what you have.
I pray everyday to Jesus. I am truely thankful, just find basic fun is costly. @midnightsun

yeah like when i watch these travelling to other countries shows on youtube , thinking it must be real nice being Rich as the owner of that Bar follows you to the ATM to get the 800 $ for those few Beers you had with your friends in Turkey and the Cops don't give a shit
I don’t want to be rich I just would like to do things that are enjoyable without it being so expensive.@FurryFace
