What are your thoughts on the CDC guidelines for not having to wear masks anymore?

I think the CDC is misguiding us on what we need to do about wearing masks. They said that they are no longer required but New York City (where I live) still wants us to wear them. I think we should still wear masks. Here are the reasons.

1. I feel like it's too soon to take them off. We can't just go from having to wear them for a very long time to suddenly taking them off.

2. You don't know who is vaccinated and who's not. The CDC said that fully vaccinated people don't have to wear masks anymore (except for if you're on public transportation), but the problem is you don't know who got the vaccine and who didn't. Some people who are not vaccinated may pretend that they got it.

That is just my opinion. I'd like to know your thoughts.

I imagine that vaccination in the U.S. is similar to here in Canada, in the sense that old people and vulnerable people have been vaccinated first so although its still possible for covid to be transmitted from one person to another the chances are much smaller and the risk of this transmission leading to deaths is even smaller. this is not an opinion about if we should continue to wear mask but just my personal analysis of why the CDC took this decision. do I agree with this decision? I really don't know, I think people that know way more about public health than me are taking these decisions.
