Would you be leary of applying to a job whose HR doesn't even seem competent?

I applied for a job via indeed. Got a message from them saying to apply on their website. I do this and had to re-do it since it didn't progress to the next step. I reached out to HR to let them know I've applied, they said they received the app and that I'd get an email saying I got an interview or if someone else did. This was last week.

This morning I get an email saying : thank you for your interest and applying on indeed, to complete the application, review our jobs on [company website] and apply using the job code.

I did this twice already.

Is this why they seemingly have a high turnover rate?🤔

Should I just ask for an interview while I have them on the phone??

I have never met a competent HR department, although that seems extra awful.

@iamnikki Ahem interview.

@CountScrofula Thank you! that sounds good. I have to plan what I'm gonna say before I make calls,otherwise I just sound stupid

@iamnikki It's always a good idea, particularly when dealing with this stuff. Keep in mind they probably deal with messups in their hiring process all the time.

I've never seen an HR department that was competent (and I've seen some that were openly malicious), so it may not be wise to judge the company as a whole by that.

You should ask for an interview. Maybe you won't like the company but never pass up an opportunity to hone your interview skills. With enough interviews, it becomes easier to relax during them and to know what the right things are to say. Practice makes perfect. If this isn't the right job for you, the next one might be.

@iamnikki You welcome.

@SW-User I called and left a message. I hate I couldn't greet the person by name on the message because I couldn't understand the name😕.

Ideally, if the HR department is incompetent then there's at least something wrong/unprofessional with that company and you would reconsider your application. But as some people already said, I haven't seen a competent HR department, even at state-owned companies so you shouldn't be too picky about applying depending on the HR staff..

And yes, you should try to make your way through an interview.
To answer you question, I wouldn't waste my time 18th a company of their hr I is terrible.

But overall I've had the same thing happen when using indeed. I think its a glitch on indeed. I got an interview out of it.

@Callmewhatyouwill right its stupid to have to apply twice. They should have it redirect to the companies page to apply there. I've gotten interviews with the site as well its the only one i use.

Our HR department don't know their own procedures.When they say someone has broke a rule I take pleasure in quoting their written policy back to them,and if they say I have it wrong I email the policy back and copy in the site general manager.
