I am curious... When you hear "South Africa" what goes through your mind?

For some reason some people think we have Lions and Tigers and Elephants and other animals just walking around freely in South Africa lol.

@Wraithorn: I definitely am. But I do not let my pride cloud my judgement. Today we have many who have not witnessed nor experienced a damn thing believing they are "entitled" to everything. I believe fully in achieving things based on MERIT and not the colour of my skin.

Then another movie of Jackie Chan which was filmed at Sun City where this one guy pulls him and says "Kom hier you wind gat!" 🤣

@Fernie: I have experienced racial discrimination first hand. Now we have some who have no memory or experience of those things yet carry on demanding many things in an entitled manner, but not being willing to work hard for anything.

The way has been paved for us all... Yet they cannot move on from something they neither witnessed or experienced.

That is the difference between the ones u have spoken to who actually experienced those things and those i refer to who have zero real life recollection of anything.

I move on in the sense that freedom has been gained... Now live it. The children and grandchildren of previous oppressors should not have to be descriminated against because they had no hand in what occurred in the past, so move on with them and live in harmony.

@iMystery: True words. Nelson Mandela showed us the path to take but corruption and greed are diverting us from that path. This country and this planet belongs to everyone or no-one. We need to share and co-operate. Fighting with each other and constantly dwelling on the past will not fix anything.

I remember one time I was swimming towards an island of rocks a couple of meters out at sea and I noticed a baby shark swimming right next to me... can you imagine how quickly I sped up to reach that island? 😅
