I Am the Oldest Sibling

@Autumnlover coming from a large family that always sounded fun till heard more from an only child friend...and your points also...hard to imagine no siblings.

@Autumnlover Sometimes they want to live through you and correct bad choices they made the first time around. Other times they just leave you alone to just Do It Yourself. In my case the latter as a kid, the former as an adult parent. I really enjoyed the outdoors and scouting the second time around.

@ScrewThisImDone because she was the favorite or because parents were tired out by time she came around so they just let things slide?

I’m sure it’s a bit of both, and the fact dad walked out when she was two, so Mom kind of overcompensated as far as spoiling that little pest.

@ScrewThisImDone Best of luck with these feelings. They resurfaced for my mother and her siblings late in life. They all died with things unreconciled. I might suggest that you try to deal with it while everyone is alive and healthy, albeit perhaps angry or worse. Sometimes a good religious leader trained in family counselling can help.
