Help! Gnats all over my home and I don't know why!

I have noticed a significant amount of gnats flying around my home. I don't know why or where they are coming from. I don't have any plants or pets, I don't have any food sitting out or yet alone any rotten or spoiled food. My trash cans are empty, dishes are washed, and I am still seeing these annoying little pests! what can I do to get rid of them if I don't know where they are coming from or why? I set out little homemade traps with apple cider vinegar and dish soap, but they only do so much.

maybe you have drain flies. those acv traps work really good for me. (about 1/3 cup of water, a couple tablespoons acv, a couple tbs sugar or honey about 6 drops of dish soap. mix ina jar then cover with plastic wrap and punch some holes in it with a pen or pencil.) put in the kitchen or near wherever they are the worst sit back and watch the death trap do it's magic. it takes time but be patient.

@Penny thank you, I'll try this. I thought the possibility of drain flies because they is no other possible place for them to be! I even noticed two of them in my toilet!

I've heard of some people using fly paper to get them.

And I think just keeping your food away in the fridge will help... also making sure you take out your trash asap.

Good luck. I know they're terrible!

@kismet Yeah, everything is in the fridge. I used to use fly paper. I might try that again and see what happens.

sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@iamnikki Nope, that's why it's so confusing.

Hahahah I just put loads of vinegar out and had to wait a couple days. Maybe vacuum the air
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@SkeetSkeet like randomly wave the hose in the air?
SkeetSkeet · 100+, F
@sweetiepoo sure. Or if you see a heard of them flying together suck em up
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@SkeetSkeet I never see a heard of them together. Usually it's just one or two at a time, but they are super fast.

There are some good tips online. Keep food and any water away, pour ammonia down the drains where you suspect they're hiding out. That works for me.
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@uncalled4 thanks! I'll try that.
