Artists, i need some ideas please

So I was gonna try to flex my artistic side today and try to teach myself to draw. But it helps to have a theme. So what I'm looking for is hard to describe. In my art class we did things like "draw 9 pictures that depict a word" or "choose an animal and draw it 6 times. The first two are simple as possible but still looks like the animal, 1 realistic, and 3 abstract". And lastly, I dont know how to describe it exactly but basically you make a squiggly line made of different things. Those are the kind of things that help to inspire me and I dont get frustrated

An exercise I've always liked is to draw (sculpt in my case) something you've never seen before, only off a description, the more bizarre the better. For example, if you have friends that play D&D, ask them for one of the monsters. If you don't know what it is, have them describe it.

Now draw that. Don't go looking for pictures. Draw what you see in your mind.

@SarahAndSamantha that is awesome, love that. And I do have buddies that do DnD

@CuddleFeesh It's fun. And can be taken a step further, too. Choose something you're familiar with. Now pretend you've never seen or heard of it, and make it the way you would based off the description.

Don't let anyone tell you "That's not how it's supposed to look. Dragon wings are reptilian! Why'd you make them feathery?" This is your version

@SarahAndSamantha I'll have to try that
