They can actually bite through a person's toenail. Fucking crazy Aussie creatures. 😋

@NigelDoes: something like 40 of the worlds most top deadly things in oz - is never bloody sleep 😴
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
That's true. They have about nine of the most venomous snakes in the world , and yet luckily very few people die of snakebite in Australia, whereas tens of thousands of people in India and the Middle East are killed every year by venomous snakes. Don't even get me started on box jellies. I was scared to swim in the ocean in Australia. :-)

I bet Did anything relieve the pain? Does vinegar neutralize that type of venom?
UndeadPrivateer · 31-35, M
@NigelDoes: Yeah, vinegar was the only thing that worked. But didn't figure that out until 2 1/2 hours or so after the sting.

Aye aye aye. Not sure I'll be swimming in Hawaii if I ever go back. :-)

Hornet or spider. Maybe fire ants. Those little buggers are vicious.
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
And a bunch of them sting you at the same time. :-)

Water Moccasin
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
Fucking hell! Did your bite require antivenom?
labsrock · M
I didn't seek medical help, this happened when I was a kid. My brother and I would snake hunt for fun and look for different species to catch. When this happened I was afraid to tell my parents thinking they would put an end to our adventures, so I made my brother promise to keep silent. It is a pit viper, but thankfully the venom isn't overly toxic. It was very painful and I felt horribly sick for a few days.

I got stung by a baby scorpion before.

Hornet
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
Ouch.
summersong · F
@NigelDoes: srsly I'm not scared of much insect-wise but hornets are just mean.
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
I'm lucky in that the only winged instead I've ever been stung by was a bee. I got stung by a Harvester ant once and that was astonishingly painful.
