Prediction: Le Pen wins. Not looking forward to it, but the rest of the world follows America's lead. She's effectively been running since Bush was in office.
Some pretty ridicule answers here...everyone seems to go with the obsession of English speaking medias for Le Pen. Very few seem to be aware that the rise of the far right in France is matched with the rise of the extreme Left. Yes, communists if you agglomerate their 3 candidates matched Mrs Le Pen's score. What made Mrs Le Pen and the communist gain ground is not a failure of Europe's social democracy, but the weakness (and wearing out) of the traditional Gaullist/socialist leadership. The French political spectrum is more complex than perceived. Mrs Le Pen will not win for a very simple reason, the great majority of the french voters are attached to European social democracy. Reading this election with British or US goggles will not allow you to understand it. In the second round, the estimates give Mr Macron winning with 62% of the votes. It is very likely to be the case.
@justsomeoneelse: Don't misunderstand, I wish for Macron to win. I am just very, very interested ton see if the current trend (Trump, Brexit, etc.) continues in France. I never expected Le Pen to poll as well as she did this far.
@OzDiver: oh for me it was obvious she was going to second round lol france has 2 rounds, because there's like 16 candidates for the first round so the 2 most popular goes to second
@LesDeplorable: I can't say anything as I feel the french people know best what exactly is going on in their country but generally, I'm for globalisation and multiculturalism. *cough* Macron.
