Are you usually the heart break-er or the heart break-ee?

I've been thinking.. I don't think I've ever broken anyone's heart. I'm way too loyal for that. But my heart has been broken plenty of times. And, within that same train of thought, I'm not sure the heart ever fully recovers. Just tiny scars left, memories, questions and pain.
And the over whelming urge to punch someone in the face...

Once I had my heart broken. I also broke a few. We will see the next time I'm in a relationship.

I hope they're a keeper!

I wrote a short story on love once... it is crazy to think about how we feel in depths of a break up, the pain we feel when we feel we lost our love. The cloud that hangs over our head and the storm that never goes away. I think we do heal though... the clouds part and we grow from it... we are guarded, but that doesn't mean we are damaged. Through these experiences we learn what we want and don't want out of a relationship, sure there are questions bout the past, but these questions are developed because we weren't sure about the relationship... when you know, there are no questions to be asked.

The problem here is that there is no real closure..

We call them exes for a reason, if it worked they wouldn't be exes... for every question you have, there are plenty of answers if you reflect on the relationship. Everything can't have an end... somethings are just better off being left open ended... I understand your frustrations with this, as it is human nature to want closure on everything... but these questions are what allows us to look for flags in future relationships... it allows us to grow, don't look at it as needing closure, look at as an opportunity to avoid these situations in the future.

About even. I've had my heart broken badly once and broke a few since. If you don't take time before a new relationship after heartbreak it's a recipe for more.

Wise words! 🤗

I don't date but I'd hate to be any of them. It's terrible.
SW-User
I've been both, but I'm usually the first
I've only had heartbreak maybe three times..
Unfortunately, both.
SW-User
I don't have a heart😕
AwakeAndDreaming · 26-30, F
I've never had a broken heart due to romance.

I like to think that I've never broken a heart but I have rejected people so I don't know if that counts.
SW-User
Yes, it counts

I don't think I've ever been either...

@CharmedHeart: Speaking as someone who has apparently been an unwitting heartbreaker. It's not great to know you've hurt people. And it can be confusing and lonely to end up breaking people's hearts when all you wanted to do was to make friends.
If I were you I wouldn't aim to be either.
SW-User
It's not in my nature to be that way anyhow. I guess I just continue to be let down.
Ambroseguy80 · 51-55, M
@CharmedHeart: well I am sorry for all the pain you have obviously experienced in that beautiful heart of yours. 🤗🤗🤗

By my count I'm up to 💔 💔 💔 💔 💔 💔 💔, which is to say my heart was broken 7 times. I don't pretend to know about my impact on the hearts of others.
