I use the Paleo Diet as my base, but I add carbs to it. However I am not trying to lose weight. I just like eating whole foods.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@SW-User I like it a lot

I just feel it's the way our bodies were meant to process food
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@SW-User I agree

I did Paleo a few month back and Atkins a long long time ago, but yes carbs are hard to break
SW-User

How can carbs be a drug when it's your bodies preferred source of fuel? The only way carbs are a drug is if you are eating simple carbs and not complex ones. Complex are the good kind and not talking about bread either.

Most people who think they are keto actually are not for many reasons:

@SatanBurger that article was written by a dietitian. So obviously they are worried by people finding an easy solution which renders dieticians obsolete

@Jm31xxx There's cardiac surgeons against it too and multiple doctors because it was only a last resort treatment to stop seizures in children. However if you don't have seizures there's no reason to limit carbs as their illness is NOT yours so the circumstances are different. It's easy to make a conspiracy against something if you're not ready to hear it but ultimately it's your health so I couldn't care less if it goes wrong for you.

I'm just trying to say that carbs are your preferred source, that's a fact that you need carbs, fat and protein to give the body what it needs. No amount of conspiracy will change that.

Diets are temporary, hence why they call it diets. Just eat clean and exercise, that's the formula. BTW, you need carbs, and you burn them quickly. Consistency is key, that's where people fail.

I remember the amount of crap Atkins got from the diet industry back in the day... Oh how things change, lol.

Keto is the way forward.

@Quizzical im not quite sure on the difference between keto and the atkins, but I know carbs are the enermy.
Quizzical · 46-50, M
@Jm31xxx I would say the differences were very slight if any at all.
I did whole30, which I think is more restrictive? I might do it again just for fun.
Jm31xxx · 41-45, M
@SooperSarah whole30?
@Jm31xxx It's a diet that's meant to be like a reset. You cut sugar, grains, dairy, and a ton of other things out for 30 days. You slowly add them back in one at a time to see how your body reacts to each one. I rushed the reintroduction and regret it. I felt so much better while on the diet, but never managed to pinpoint what's stopping me from feeling that great now.
