Panic and anxiety attacks are vicious.

I'm alternating between cold and hot, my hands are shaking and I have the most overwhelming sense of impending doom.I feel like I'm about to die.
I'm trying to do some cognitive behavioral therapy.
I AM trying. But it's big enough to eat me.
LyricalOne · F
I totally get that. Been experiencing it myself the past few days. Hang tough and hang here with us to help get you through.

@LyricalOne The cats are reacting to it.
LyricalOne · F
@Cavedweller They are very sensitive to human emotions.
Cavedweller · 46-50, F
@LyricalOne We smell different when we aren't well.

Cavedweller · 46-50, F

@Cavedweller cats are the best. 🐱

And you will be, and are, strong enough to get through it. It's very difficult, the work, but, it's worth it. Just focus on this moment; taking deep breaths, and letting them out slowly. If you need to, and you're in a safe place, close your eyes, and just focus on the deep breaths.

@Cavedweller so what are some effective ways to cope with the waiting? Perhaps that is the most important question you can ask yourself, in this moment, and your therapist, the next time you see him/her. It feels like it, but you're not alone.
Cavedweller · 46-50, F
@SW-User Distraction. Music helps. As does Netflix and cats.
SW-User
@Cavedweller absolutely. You'll get through this. Hang in there sweetie
Reverend · M
Im sorry to hear that. You will be okay. I too have them. They are terrible but not dangerous.
Cavedweller · 46-50, F
@Reverend I tend to curl up into a safety ball. Get under a blanket and be still until its over.
Reverend · M
@Cavedweller whatever makes you feel better. It sucks feeling like your about to climb out of your own skin.
Cavedweller · 46-50, F
@Reverend Boy howdy.
Ryannnnnn · 31-35, M
Yeah it's the worst thing in the world.
Hope you get better soon.

I found that slowly bringing intense exercise into my life really helped me, that and tieing up loose ends/having everything in life in order as much as I can.
Cavedweller · 46-50, F
@Ryannnnnn Yep. I'm really trying to not let this take over.
robb65 · 56-60, M
Hugs. I've had that happen once. Not a good feeling at all.
Cavedweller · 46-50, F
@robb65 The polar opposite.
robb65 · 56-60, M
@Cavedweller I was home alone and thought for a moment it might be a heart attack.
Cavedweller · 46-50, F
@robb65 Yeah, I was utterly convinced I was about to have a stroke earlier. I live on my own so it's a pretty real fear. Not being able to rouse help.
How about breathing exercises when that happens?
