Do you think mindlessnes has become the social norm?

Especially with huge number of people seem conflating "everyone is entitled to their own opinion" with the completely insane idea that all opinions are equal.

I remember practicing debate skills at school-- I thought it was pretty silly at the time. Why defend a position you don't hold? But it forced an investigation of facts, of precedent, of a fuller comprehension of the issue at hand. And a willingness to fully consider an opposing point of view. But best of all, it required that we identify and choose reliable sources.

I get what you mean but I do not know how to phrase my observation during debates or arguments.. The undue respect to someone's view or opinion and refraining from questioning them and instead flattering them to the core.. do not know if its to keep theirs intact..

And demand facts or proof or statistics for even things that are apparent.

So there is this complacency of you keep yours and I keep mine else if you question mine, I question yours.

All I see is that education has rendered as many opinianated jerks who do not know how to weigh things.

Define facts: you will soon enjoy erupting contradictions.
When people were not entitled to their opinion in the past and they spoke up about something that needed to change they were killed.
That is called control.
If someone has a silly opinion, nobody will listen so who cares but alot of people opinions are not stupid and the more we discussed these things the further we should be able to go

You’ve raised some interesting points about “control.” I wasn’t thinking of that side of the argument.
@PilinisesiofParadise yeah I certainly want to be heard lol

We live in a society where mediocrity is the standard.

If you achieve it’s because your entitled.

If you fail it’s someone else’s fault.

@PilinisesiofParadise hahaha.. yes... the pure truth or understanding of it. But its difficult to remain understood for too long for we get on the roof and smash it again.

Some use alternate facts but favoritism does come into play.

Many play Dirty in debates and then appeal to those on high.

Mindlessness, with no critical or independent thinking. Low mentality seems to prevail. Social media has dumbed us down

Social media has its positive and negatives: however, it has surely erode independent thinking from a vast majority of society.
