@iamonfire696 Sorry about that. FWIW, I don't think it's a hoax, but I do see how once you buy into conspiracy-thinking, it's easy to formulate an alternate reality that's resistant to challenge by uncomfortable "facts."

You [i]say[/i] you've seen ICU capacities and positivity results, but why should [i]you[/i] be believed if someone like Flynn or Trump doesn't agree with you.

You could be a co-conspirator, like a Chinese agent, or a globalist, or a cosmopolitan coastal elite, or another "enemy of the people" and you might even have a space laser in your back pocket.

To be clear, I find the Trump cult revolting and dangerous, but I also think it's foolish to discount its power and influence.

@MistyCee okay well I am not American and have nothing to gain by posting this information. Where I am, we have run out of ICU beds and the test positivity rate is hovering around 16%. I honestly don’t understand what benefit a pandemic has served the government. Here the government is handing out money to business owners, healthcare workers, programs, etc. Our national debt has skyrocketed and many people have died. We will never get out of this debt in our lifetime or our grandchildren’s lifetime. To have someone think that the government did this to reign in people is revolting. I am fucking tired of all the conspiracy theorists. My friends work in healthcare and are burned out from this. Why can’t people be decent and get the vaccine. They have no problem taking medications for cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure. The is a public health issue, not a damned conspiracy. This is not directed at you but all of those people who need to give their heads a shake and have some decency when they say not getting the vaccine only affects them.

FWIW, there are still lots of Americans (and non Americans) who think in terms of the human race as a whole and not just in terms of "us v them".

I wish there were more, and that there were fewer Trump type sociopaths, of course.

@Pitchblue Even if they all get covid, less than 1% of them will die. Covid is a massive public health crisis, but a very poor exterminator.
