Can anyone siding with one political party actually take each issue for what it is?

I find it hard to believe people agree 100% on every partisan issue. Would love to see answers on a lie detector!

I’m socially liberal/tolerant yet fiscally conservative/responsible, so I can disagree with just about everybody given enough time.
Bluesky52 · 61-69, M
@SW-User that would be libertarian,

Zonuss · 41-45, M
You should post more on here. 🙂
That's what parties are supposed to be all about, along with compromising about priorities and issues.

Cults are different.
@SW-User Kind of makes me wish we could make America great again, lol.

At this point, I’d settle for mere goodness. @MistyCee

@MistyCee that is a bad term to use these days. America has been and despite all that has recently happened, remains great. Unfortunately, the more our democracy is attacked, the harder it is to continue to think how great we are!

I think that there is no real party line among voters, no standard platform. I am conservative. I am pro life but I don't think abortion should be outlawed. I also don't think the government should be promoting or paying for it. I am not a fan of the welfare system because of the abuse and the incentives to stay on it. There is a small percentage of extreme right and extreme left but the 80% in the middle are some mix of everything. We need a third party, truly moderate and they would walk away with every election.
Handfull1 · 61-69, F
@Roadsterrider honestly, no matter what side one is on, if I hear those words “witch hunt”, I will puke! At least you and Trump should come up with something new! 🤮🤮🤮
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Roadsterrider do you not consider bribery as illegal? I could go further, but if you see nothing he has done as illegal, it isn't worth the discussion.
Roadsterrider · 56-60, M
@samueltyler2 I do think bribery is illegal, I also think that every president who has ever dealt with another nation has had to give something in return for something, that is called negotiation. Saying "You aren't getting a dime until you do what I want", is extortion. That isn't what Trump did. He did what any good negotiator would do and reminded the president of Ukraine that the US has been a good and helpful ally. The US has supported him and his administration and hoped that he would do the same. Two countries working on things that benefit both. On the other hand, what Joe Biden did when he threatened the president of the Ukraine that "He wasn't going to see a dime until a personal request was complied with, namely, firing the prosecutor investigating the company his son worked for, that was extortion. I look at congress and the senate, something like 65% of both are millionaires, about 1% of the population are millionaires, where there is smoke, there is fire. How do all these guys become millionaires in 6-8 years making $150K a year? Our whole system is corrupt, and unless voters actually pay attention and educate themselves on the issues, it will remain or worsen. I read the transcript of the call, he doesn't ask for anything illegal. Maybe you should read the transcript instead of what Schiff lied about it.

Actually I have very strong political opinions and don't discuss them with others. However, if someone voices their opinion, I will listen and realize their opinions are based on their life's experiences and respect them for that. So personally I express my opinions on the voter ballot.
Bluesky52 · 61-69, M
i'm pro life,i'm with the party that is,,

@Harriet03 can i get a WAAAAAAAA!

@Bluesky52 If a fetus is a person at 6 weeks, shouldn't the child support begin then? Then the woman can't be deported since she's carrying a US citizen? Shouldn't the Mother be able to insure that 6 week old fetus and collect if she miscarries?
Handfull1 · 61-69, F
@Fernie all good points
HannahSky · F
I don't think most people do. No way can you agree with every issue if you really understand what they are. It's pretty irresponsible if you do.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
I would love for people to make up their minds on each issue first instead of picking a side and championing all the beliefs of that partisan stance.
I’m pro-choice, and I’m with the party that isn’t trying to control what women do with their bodies. The party that does couldn’t possibly support equal rights for women if it would restrict their basic reproductive rights.

I'm not partisan. It's pathetic to be a party loyalist. The parties don't work for the citizens.
navigatorTR · 41-45, M
Unfortunately its very hard. generally people are supporting their political views just like they support a football team. they support no matter what they say
Handfull1 · 61-69, F
@navigatorTR I lean a particular way but like football, if a team cheats, I will call them out on it! I take each issue for what it is.
navigatorTR · 41-45, M
@Handfull1 it seems easy but it is generally hard to confess that they have mistakes or the politicians they support made mistakes for most of the people . if the majority of ppl were not like this the world would be a much better place i think
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@navigatorTR in an era of "alternative facts," it is difficult to figure out how to develop a consensus opinion.
masterofyou · 70-79, M
I try to not engage in politics with friends as it sparks conflict..

I will always put my country before any party.

I'm a single issue voter on all of the following: free speech, firearms, and national security. The other side offers me less than nothing. They promise only to strip me of my rights and tear down my nation. So yeah, there's no way in hell I will ever vote for the Democrats.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@SW-User thank goodness that you are entitled to your opinions and your vote. But, it is best to TRY to listen to both sides and decide which really makes better sense and is for the better good. Don't make up your mind on a single issue!
they would pass the detector, if we have learned anything in this CRAZY-STUPID era, it is that they are all emotionally invested, and even facing a fact, will ever and always "stay Loyal"

I so agree!
Fernie · F
why the hell did you "like" my comment? I do not agree with you nor was that a compliment...Pro birth meaning you don't give a crap about the kid once it's here as long as procreation occurs
It would never work. Polygraphs aren't reliable, especially with psychopaths. And there are more psychopaths than people realize.
Handfull1 · 61-69, F
@PhoenixPhail I guess I wasn’t saying it quite that literally. I just wish people were honest..even with themselves

In a hyper partisan time... lots of people (not all) just fall in with the crowd in their party.
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
Only fault I have with my party is it's stance on wars. As an anabaptist I'm pacificist
Theliberal · 36-40, M
No, both sides are crooks.
Fernie · F
@Theliberal Money and power does that to a person

More like pro BIRTH
Basically I see it as the party whose platform supports the most important things I care about. It’s not every issue across the board even for me, either.
