Can anyone siding with one political party actually take each issue for what it is?

I find it hard to believe people agree 100% on every partisan issue. Would love to see answers on a lie detector!

I think that there is no real party line among voters, no standard platform. I am conservative. I am pro life but I don't think abortion should be outlawed. I also don't think the government should be promoting or paying for it. I am not a fan of the welfare system because of the abuse and the incentives to stay on it. There is a small percentage of extreme right and extreme left but the 80% in the middle are some mix of everything. We need a third party, truly moderate and they would walk away with every election.

@Roadsterrider some good points.

@Roadsterrider they will only pull votes from one party, more likely in the current situation from the dems thus insuring there-election of a confessed briber!

@samueltyler2 Maybe, but I think a third party that was truly moderate would clean up. I really don't think there is a dimes worth of difference between the democrat and republican party except the time frame.

@Roadsterrider I would like not to blame thebreoublicans party for the deeds and corruption of the current administration. There may be some corruption that has been "built into" our US government, remember Ben Franklin's son was appointed then first postmaster general, but the degree represented by the current administration is historic on depth and breadth.

@samueltyler2 I think both sides are corrupt. I don't see where Trump has done anything illegal, I see the whole impeachment thing as a witch hunt to get rid of a president democrats don't like. There have always been appointments that presidents make that either party will disagree with, but that is politics. Everything for me falls at the feet of the voters. The constitution limits government, it is up to the voters to pay attention and vote out officials who don't follow the rules and vote people in who represent them. The US voter as a group is mostly apathetic to everything and don't worry till something hits them in the wallet. The politicians have used that apathy to do ridiculous things to set themselves above the people.

@Roadsterrider honestly, no matter what side one is on, if I hear those words “witch hunt”, I will puke! At least you and Trump should come up with something new! 🤮🤮🤮

@Roadsterrider do you not consider bribery as illegal? I could go further, but if you see nothing he has done as illegal, it isn't worth the discussion.

@samueltyler2 I do think bribery is illegal, I also think that every president who has ever dealt with another nation has had to give something in return for something, that is called negotiation. Saying "You aren't getting a dime until you do what I want", is extortion. That isn't what Trump did. He did what any good negotiator would do and reminded the president of Ukraine that the US has been a good and helpful ally. The US has supported him and his administration and hoped that he would do the same. Two countries working on things that benefit both. On the other hand, what Joe Biden did when he threatened the president of the Ukraine that "He wasn't going to see a dime until a personal request was complied with, namely, firing the prosecutor investigating the company his son worked for, that was extortion. I look at congress and the senate, something like 65% of both are millionaires, about 1% of the population are millionaires, where there is smoke, there is fire. How do all these guys become millionaires in 6-8 years making $150K a year? Our whole system is corrupt, and unless voters actually pay attention and educate themselves on the issues, it will remain or worsen. I read the transcript of the call, he doesn't ask for anything illegal. Maybe you should read the transcript instead of what Schiff lied about it.
